Frequently asked questions
How do I get in contact?
Get in touch with me via the contact page. We can then arrange to have a 10 minute chat to understand what you need. This will allow you to get a sense of how I work and ask any questions you may have. If you decide to go ahead we then book an appointment and I will send you information about your appointment including registration and assessment forms to complete before your first appointment.
How do I pay?
I ask clients where possible to pay online before their appointment. This secures their appointment and the room booking. I ask clients to rearrange as soon as possible when they know they are unable to attend. Any cancellations within 24 hours will be charged.
What do I need to wear?
Please wear something which feels comfortable and allows you to move. It is not always the case but we often look at different movements or there is an exercise component to our sessions. Wearing a vest top allows us to assess what is happening with a neck or shoulder problem. Similarly shorts/leggings will allow for easier assessment of lower limb problems.
What’s your experience?
I qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist in 1997 beginning my career in Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. I worked for more than 15 years in a busy primary care musculoskeletal team helping clients with a wide range of acute and chronic problems. My passion for working with persistent pain developed as I joined the private sector and found that I was able to listen to and understand the story that came with each client.
How many sessions will i need?
This varies between clients. I am able to work with clients in the short or long term. Sometimes a few sessions can help clients understand their difficulty enough to move forward, however, I often support clients over a longer time frame.
How often will I need sessions?
The amount of sessions that you’ll require with myself will vary from person to person depending on your specific needs. Clients often find weekly appointments are beneficial initially which become more spaced out over time.
How long do sessions last?
All of my sessions last fifty minutes whether it’s a first or a follow up appointment. I find this allows us the time to understand what is going on and get the most out of each session.
Where are you based?
I am based at Insight Therapy Centre and the address is 67 Hilton Rd, Leeds LS8 4HA. There are a few parking spaces to the rear of the building and plenty of free spaces on the roadside.
I do also offer home visits and virtual appointments for clients who are unable to attend face to face.
